Ginny McGill PT, DPT, CNT, NTMTC

Ginny McGill is a neonatal physical therapist who brings a blend of clinical expertise, compassion, and innovation to her practice. She has worked with medically complex and premature infants for over two decades in intensive care and outpatient follow through settings. She earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2001. Dr. McGill has grounded her work in ongoing education seeking deep clinical knowledge and advanced training. She holds multiple certifications including Neonatal Touch and Massage, General Movements Assessment and Neonatal Therapy. Ginny enjoys teaching and is a faculty member for both Engage Grow Thrive and Creative Therapy Consultants as well as having the first and third most watched webinars on the National Association of Neonatal Therapists’ website in 2024, after presenting at NANT in 2023. Along with her work on abdominal support for neonates, this contributed to Ginny receiving the NANT Excellence in Clinical Practice Award in 2025. This visionary clinician has taken her frontline experience and drive to solve problems into innovation with her invention of the NeoBellyBand. She is a passionate advocate for the vulnerable infants and families she serves as well as a mentor to therapists and nurses on topics including abdominal support, micro-preemie care, and early detection for cerebral palsy.

NeoBellyBand TM

NeoBellyBand was created by Ginny to support abdominal wall integrity, particularly in the realm of neonatal and infant abdominal support. Since publishing the article linked above, clinical cases were presented at NANT in 2023, revealing three types of therapists: those already engaged in abdominal wall treatment, those eager to begin, and those seeking to study it further. Some practitioners were utilizing suboptimal materials for abdominal wall support and expressed a desire to access the recommended belly band discussed. Others sought the rationale and clinical tools necessary for productive discussions with their teams regarding implementation. Additionally, some were interested in participating in further neonatal therapy research. The primary goal of this site is to share valuable information in a collaborative forum. For access to the NeoBellyBand, please visit the product link at the top of this page. To explore clinical tools and supporting documents please read the know-how section after acknowledging the disclaimer.
